Lighting Control, in plain language.
Lighting control replaces the switches in a room with a small keypad and a set of scenes. One button for Evening, one for Away, one for Movie, one for Goodnight. Behind the wall, dimmers hold each fixture at the level that was set during design, so the room looks the same every night without anybody adjusting anything.
The part most people do not expect is how much of the work is design rather than hardware. Deciding which fixtures belong on which scene, and at what level, is what separates a system people use daily from an expensive set of switches.
